Improvements to your home

 As well as providing a day-to-day repairs service each year we carry out a number of major repairs to homes such as fitting new kitchens or new roofs.

Together these works make up our investment programme which when complete will ensure all our homes meet the Decent Homes standard.

Update of Capital Programme - June 2010

Capital Improvement Works - Amount spent to date
The budget  for this financial year 2010/11 is an estimated £23.6 million.

At the end of June 2010, £3.3 million had been spent on improvement works including work to bring properties up to the Decent Homes standard.

The following schemes started in the current month:

5Ms Woodbridge external enveloping Phase 3: external insulation, windows and doors, roofing to properties in Woodbridge Vale and Queenswood Drive.  Work is planned to complete in November.

The following schemes completed in the current month:

New Wortley gas mains and new central heating (Heatlease). This scheme has now been completed.  Any further requests for heating to properties in this area are to be added to the Rossefields and Snowdens Heating Scheme.

A brief update on schemes that have already started.

Demolition work at Clydes and Holdforths
The demolition of 36 properties on the Holdforths and Clydes.  Progressing well, planned to complete June 2010.

5Ms Woodbridges External Enveloping
Scheme progressing well, contract has been extended: four additional properties have been added and is now due to complete at the end of June 2010.  Delays due to poor weather conditions.

Rossfields and Snowdens, Bramley  gas mains and central heating (Heatlease)
The gas mains have been installed and work has started on installing central heating.  Up to date 91 properties have had heating installed.

Re-roofing ALMO wide 09/10/11
Scheme started in January 2010, re-roofing of properties across the ALMO to meet the Decent Homes Standard.  Up-to-date 90 properties have been re-roofed.  Scheme planned to complete December 2010.

Replacement kitchens and bathrooms: Phase 1
Work progressing well.  Up-to-date work has been completed at194 properties. Additional properties have been added and scheme is nowplanned to complete end of July 2010.

Decent Homes windows: Phase 3 
Scheme started at the end of March. Up-to-date 168 properties across the ALMO have had new windows.  Scheme planned to complete at the end of June.
