Leeds Year of Volunteering

Leeds Year of Volunteering

One of the ways you can make a big difference is by volunteering. 2010 is the Leeds Year of Volunteering - a celebration of the amazing work already happening in our city and an opportunity to promote volunteering and encourage more people to get involved.

Volunteering has loads of benefits for individuals, communities and organisations. People who volunteer gain confidence, learn new skills and develop a real sense of belonging to their communities whilst helping to improve the quality of life for local people. Organisations benefit from the skills, enthusiasm and time of a diverse volunteer workforce.

It’s a great time to get involved! There’s a year-long programme of events on different volunteering themes co-ordinated by Leeds City Council and Voluntary Action Leeds involving lots of other public, private and voluntary sector partners

More details can be found on www.leedsyearofvolunteering.org.uk

Below you will find organisations who value the contribution of local volunteers including Volunteer Centre Leeds. A drop in session is held in the Central Library every Thursday between 12pm and 4.30pm.
