Help for those feeling stretched by the credit crunch.
Tenants living in or near Fairfield Estate in Bramley were given an opportunity to access help and advice they may need during the current credit crunch. West North West Homes working with InCommunities, Bradford, organised an event at Fairfield Community Centre on 13 May when tenants could pop in and speak to a number of experts.
Advice was on hand for those:
- having problems with debt and looking to manage their money better
- looking to reduce their fuel bills
- needing to find out about benefits or sources of credit
- looking to learn new skills for a job or even start a small business
Advice was also available for lone parents and those with disability or health problems looking for work. Age was not a problem as we also had experts who could advise on work experience and apprenticeship opportunities for those between the ages of 16 and 25.
One lucky attendee won Leeds Rhino tickets for a match of their choice in our prize draw. This tickets were donated by Resource Print Solutions who also helped with our marketing material for the event. Another lucky winner won a Tesco shopping voucher.
Claire Warren, Chief Executive of West North West Homes, commented, ‘Events such as these show that we are really keen to help any of our tenants who need financial advice or want to realise their potential. It is also important that we forge partnership links with other agencies so we can all work together to support our customers.’
