Anti-Social Behaviour

Crime and Disorder Act definition:  

ASB is defined as behaviour that causes "or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to one or more persons not in the same household" 


Forms of Anti-Social Behaviour and Nuisance Behaviour: 

If you, your family or any visitors to your home are involved in
any of the following activities then your home may be at risk.
 

  • Using a property for illegal purposes
  • Racial, Homophobic or other harassment
  • Threatening behaviour towards others
  • Vandalism
  • Noise nuisance including music, hobbies, animals and people in your property
  • Nuisance caused by animals at the property
  • Graffiti
  • Domestic Violence/Abuse
  • Dumping rubbish and misuse of communal areas
  • Dangerous use of fireworks and fire setting
  • Harassment - which includes:
              - intimidation
              - abusive or insulting words & behaviour
              - physical abuse
              - acts or words which interfere with peace or another person
  • Vehicle related nuisance
  • Damaging neighbours' homes or property

Many criminal acts are also Anti Social Behaviour – for example vandalism, drug dealing, abusive language or abusive behaviour.
